Seasonal Events

Bethany Christian Church holds seasonal events throughout the year which help to enrich the spiritual life of the members of the congregation. These are:

• Ash Wednesday. The season of Lent begins with a reflective and interactive service of prayer and imposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday.

• Maundy Thursday. The community gathers during Holy Week (the week before Easter) to remember when Jesus and the disciples gathered to celebrate Passover. We share communion on this night and remember that we are to live a life of servanthood, just as Jesus did.

• Easter Sunday Brunch/Egg Hunt. Members work together to provide a brunch in the Fellowship Hall for everyone to enjoy. Following the brunch, small children are treated to an Easter egg hunt on the church courtyard.

• All Church Picnic at the beginning of September to  welcome everyone back and begin the fall church schedule.  

• Thanksgiving Dinner & Annual Meeting. The Sunday before Thanksgiving the congregation gathers for a turkey dinner with all the trimmings following morning worship. The Annual Meeting follows, to highlight the ministries throughout the previous year and to affirm new leaders for the coming year.

• Children & Youth Christmas Program. The children and youth share the Christmas story with us during morning worship.

• Christmas Eve. A service of candlelight, carols, and communion on December 24th at 7:00pm celebrates the light that is born in human hearts through the coming of the Christ child.
